Erythritol is a natural sweetener that occurs naturally in some mushrooms, fruits (including watermelon, grape and pear) and fermented foods such as wine, cheese and soy sauce. Erythritol is the only natural polyol and is produced through natural fermentation and has approximately 70% of the sweetening power of regular sugar. Erythritol is an ideal substitute for reed,
beet sugar or other sweeteners. Gives a delicious sweet taste to smoothies, yogurt, snacks, drinks, ice cream and other (desserts) dishes.
Contains no calories, it is only absorbed in the small intestine and excreted via the urinary tract and therefore the calories of erythritol are not absorbed. Erythritol does not affect blood sugar levels and is therefore a good alternative for diabetics.
