What is protein?
Proteins serve as the building blocks of our body. They are made up of amino acids, which together form a protein. Our body can make some of these amino acids itself. However, there are nine amino acids that we must get through our diet, these are the essential amino acids.
Protein-rich food
Most people will think of protein as meat, egg or cottage cheese, but protein can be found in many more foods. Fish, nuts, grains and legumes are also rich in protein, and can therefore be an important source of protein in your diet.

Proteins for more muscle building and stronger muscles
Proteins have various functions within our body. For example, they serve as building blocks for various tissues, such as bones and muscles. They also promote the growth of muscle mass and support muscle recovery after physical exertion.
High-quality proteins: hydrolyzed whey isolate
We distinguish different types of protein powders. In addition to the vegan variants that usually have a base of pea, rice or bean proteins, we know the whey protein powders. Whey is a by-product of cheese with a naturally high protein content and better known by its English name: whey.
There are different types of whey, such as concentrate, isolate and hydrolyzed isolate. To produce Clear Whey, lactose, fats and carbohydrates are filtered from the whey concentrate. This gives us a whey isolate with a high protein content.
Increased absorption due to hydrolyzation
The whey isolate is then hydrolyzed. Within this process, the proteins are broken down into smaller pieces and predigested by the addition of enzymes. The end result is a hydrolyzed whey isolate with improved absorption.
Better solubility
Thanks to the hydrolysis of the proteins, the solubility of Clear Whey also improves significantly. Shake your shaker cup a few times and you have a deliciously clear protein lemonade!
Lactose <0.2%
Lactose is a sugar that occurs naturally in milk and dairy products. Whey concentrate contains lactose, but when making whey isolate, this specific sugar is largely filtered out. Clear Whey isolate therefore contains less than 0.2% lactose, making it easily digestible for more people.
Complete amino acid profile
All protein sources contain all different amino acids, but the ratio can vary considerably. Proteins with a complete amino acid profile contain amino acids in proportions that match our needs well. Some proteins contain proportionately fewer of certain essential amino acids, making their amino acid profile less complete.
The protein in Clear Whey has a complete amino acid profile. It contains all essential amino acids, in the optimal proportions.
47% essential amino acids
Of the 20 amino acids that our body needs, we can produce some of them ourselves or convert them from other amino acids. However, there are nine amino acids that our body cannot produce and that we must therefore obtain from our diet. The proteins in Clear Whey consist of 47% of these essential amino acids!
20% branched chain amino acids (BCAA)
Three important essential amino acids are the BCAAs leucine, isoleucine and valine. Clear Whey consists of 20% of these BCAAs, in a scientifically substantiated ratio of 2:1:1.
Mocktail tip
As a clear protein lemonade, Clear Whey is also perfect for mixing with other drinks. For example, try this tropical mocktail!
300 milliliters of coconut water or pineapple juice
1 scoop Clear Whey (25 grams)
100 milliliters of sparkling water
Slice of lime
Mix the coconut water or pineapple juice with the Clear Whey and let it sit for 5 minutes. Top with the sparkling water and the lime slice. Enjoy it!
Tip! Pineapple juice contains sugar. Do you want the highest possible percentage of protein in your drink? Then choose coconut water.

How much protein you need varies per person. For example, you need more protein if you weigh more or if you exercise a lot. Your requirements are also slightly increased with a plant-based diet because plant proteins often have a less complete amino acid profile.
To calculate your needs, you can see which situation applies to you. You then multiply that need by your body weight. This tells you how much protein you need each day.
